Jo SmithChartered Physiotherapist![]() Registered with BUPA and recognised by most health insurance companies, Joanne has been a practicing physiotherapist for 20 years and during this time has worked in several different capacities varying from being hospital based , tutoring for 'National Coaching Foundation', running injury clinics for different sports clubs around The Midlands and representing national teams. Her passion for working with people is as strong today as when she started practicing. She believes in a holistic approach to health and exercise and the principles of Pilates for rehibilitation and injury prevention. Qualifications include:
Specialities:Joanne is a biomechanics expert analysing how the body moves, identifying abnormal movement patterns or lack of control of movement which can lead to pain or dysfunction. Joanne analyses sports injuries and treats, rehabilitates and educates her clients, empowering them to take future prevention action.Joanne is proficient with all joints of the body and supplies rehibilitation for clients after orthopaedic surgery or general postural issues . Joanne uses mobilisation, myofascial release, strapping, taping, ultrasound, massage, acupressure and modified Pilates exercises to suit the client with pain or pathology. Experience:With over 20 years experience as a clinician, Joanne has gained a broad base of experience which includes trauma, orthopaedics and out patients, Joanne is a highly respected practitioner and has previously been elected a member of the GB Medical Commission.Likes:The satisfaction from working with patients & spending quality time with family.Dislikes:Bad language. |
