    Kate Highy

    We are thrilled to welcome Kate Highy to our team as our new Sports Therapist. 

    With a profound passion for treating injuries and improving the quality of life of her clients that spans over 10 years, Kate brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our community.

    Kate’s journey began when she graduated from Staffordshire University with a First Class Honours Degree in Sports Therapy Bsc Hons.

    From this, she has developed a deep understanding of the body mechanics, what injuries/conditions can occur whether it is muscular, neural, acute or chronic and more importantly how to best treat them.

    Throughout her life, Kate faced and overcame various health issues, which fuelled her appreciation for how something can impact your life both physically and mentally. She understands first-hand how Sports Therapy can aid in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and enhancing mobility, core strength, and overall ease of movement. With experience working with elite athletes including Premiership Rugby players, Olympic Rowers and professional athletes, she understands the demands on the body and what can be done to treat a wide variety of conditions including tendinopathies, arthritic and long term injuries.

    As a part of her ‘toolbox’ Kate can tailor the treatment to match your individual needs using a variety of techniques. These can range from Soft Tissue, exercise prescription to Electrotherapy She emphasises the importance of treating each person as individual and each treatment is tailored to them. She also believes it is important for it to be a shared plan with clients input as to what their goals are.

    When Kate isn’t working as a sports therapist, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, travelling, baking and volunteering.
