Meet the Team
Michael Dawes
I am passionate about physiotherapy and the benefits it can bring to everyone, from those with a painful knee or shoulder, to those looking to return to elite sport or even those learning to walk after complex joint replacement. I have a special interest in advanced rehabilitation and persistent pain having completed extra study in both athlete development, strength and conditioning and cognitive behavioural therapy to name just a few.
I’ve been working in the NHS for the last 6 years, the last 3 of which have been as a Senior Specialist MSK physiotherapist at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham where you can still find me today. Prior to this I was a specialist MSK physiotherapist in the South Warwickshire Trust and before that in the Heart of England foundation doing my junior rotations. Working at a specialist centre for orthopaedic medicine I am part of a team that is involved in some of the most cutting edge and complex surgeries that occur here in the UK. This involves; Orthopaedic oncology, spinal surgery, sports injury clinics and elective surgeries.
I have also supplemented this experience by working in a busy private practice and with Wasps netball, as their Academy and under 21’s physiotherapist. I have also worked with Warwick schools Rugby Teams for the last 5 years.
In my free time you can find me out on my bike, running around the village, bomb proofing myself in the gym or swimming laps of the pool trying to convert my national level success in the pool as a breast stroke sprinter into an amateur long distance triathlete…. Let’s just say the training never stops!
